A Pair of Suspects Formally Indicted for Prison Murder of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder following the jailhouse death of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 stand indicted for homicide and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.

Watkins, forty-eight, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after admitting a string of sex offences including the effort to sexually assault an infant.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were confiscated.
