Battlefield 6 Gamers Concur: Tasks Are Way Too Hard

The debut of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 garnered significant enthusiasm, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, concurrent player counts surged to nearly 750,000. However, in spite of its success, a growing number of players are protesting against some of the game's hardest challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.

Users have commenced resorting to custom matches made via Battlefield Portal to complete them, emphasizing just how grueling these missions have become.

Understanding BF6 Objectives

Assignments are Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, as opposed to the periodically changed everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four types of assignments, but where most merely grant skins and a few gadgets, achieving the firearm tasks is the sole method of getting 12 of the 41 main guns found within the game.

A number of these locked weapons could shortly find their way on lists of the best guns in Battlefield 6.

Gamer Backlash via Reddit

On Reddit, players are understandably voicing their concerns about how challenging and repetitive a number of these challenges are. An individual player highlighted one of the most extreme examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
  • Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs

"This mission is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a comment that illustrates just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.

The suppression feature in the game is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it lacks nearly as many positive effects in fights as it had in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.

Additionally, firing an LMG without aiming is extremely unreliable and only works at extremely close range, which is not usually a position you aim to be. The same user also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that mission would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.

Another Extremely Difficult Task

A different forum member brought attention to another ridiculously tough challenge, now in the sniper rifle category to obtain the PSR:

  • Secure 150 precision takedowns beyond 200 meters with marksman guns

This is difficult enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at that kind of range.

There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but because there are just nine battlegrounds in the game right now, it restricts you to playing one of the larger locales, Mirak Valley, and possibly an additional option at a push if you plan to engage from afar from beyond 200 meters.

The Alternative Method

However, there is a solution: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a feature that enables you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This allows you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't really seem like the spirit of the game.

However, when doing the challenges in a normal session feels like anti-playing, since you must engage in such an unorthodox manner that harms both you and your squad, who can fault a player for grinding them out in a private match so allies are not impaired?

Upcoming Tweaks

It won't come as a surprise if a number of these missions are toned down in the near future, because unless they are modified, a portion of the user base simply are unlikely to obtain the gated weapons.

For now, the audience continues to share their thoughts on these challenging multiplayer missions, hoping for a fairer overall gameplay in subsequent patches.
